National Saturday Club

Impact Gamers are working with Bradford College and National Saturday Club to deliver games making tuition, leading up to a Summer Showcase event in London in July.

What is National Saturday Club Game Making group?

Bradford college are running games making groups as a part of the National Saturday Club, Impact Gamers staff lead these sessions .
We will be teaching teenagers the basic of games design for them to make their own small game.

Session are ran in small groups with 2 staff and 8 students.

What are the age requirements?

The National Saturday Club (NSC) advertise their groups for 13-16 year olds. For more information, please visit their website https://saturday-club.org/

What is the cost of the program?

National Saturday Clubs (NSC) are free with the expectation of your child to attend the weekly sessions at often as possible.

How do I register my child for the program?

When do session run?

The sessions are held weekly, at two different times, depending on the group 
9:45-11:00, and 11:05-12:20

Who are the instructors and what are their qualifications?

At the National Saturday club (NSC), the sessions are instructed by two of our younger staff from Impact Gamers with 2 or more years of game development with Fusion*. 

What types of games will my child be making?

We will only making basic 2D games in the time frame. We use Fusion software made by www.clickteam.com to allow us to teach a total beginner to rapidly prototype games. Some games made by previous students are here igamers.io

What knowledge skills or equipment does my child need?

No previous skills or knowledge is needed, just the ability to use a mouse and read basic English.
We will provide all the equipment and software needed for the session. If your child wants continue learning at home they can take their work home on a USB stick (We provide) and continue their game building on any Windows computer. We have teaching resources here https://impactgamers.net/learn/

Where exactly is the session? Is their parking? Can I stay?

The session run from C7 in The Lister Building of Bradford College. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Fvd9BKupQCVvRfgM9

The building is behind the main David Hockney Building and can only be accessed by car from Calrton St (Via Smith St or Tumbling Hill St). You will be met with either blue or red stripped barriers to access the parking (See yellow below) please just press the buzzer and ask for access from security.

You are welcome to stay in the ground floor College Cafe during the session.
